The Challenge
Each team is charged with producing a solution to a topical global issue, which will be announced at 11.00 BST on 22nd June, and must be completed 24 hours later by 11.00 BST on 23rd June.
Challenge Team
- The team should have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 students
- Students must currently be attending high school or community college
- Must be aged 19 years OR UNDER on the date of the event
- Ideally the team should possess a broad range of complementary skills and knowledge (science and technology, business, marketing and communication)
Challenge Rules
- There are no rules regarding how a team responds to the challenge.
- To complete the Challenge the team will submit via e-mail a 2-page mini-business plan by the set deadline, and make a 3-minute presentation in accordance with the event running order.
Presentations
- Presentations must be pre-recorded and uploaded by the set deadline as directed.
- The presentation will be in English (an interpreter may be used)
- PowerPoint slides MAY be used in the presentation but NOT in the mini-business plan.
The Judging
- Each team’s response to the Challenge will be assessed against the judging criteria that will be issued in advance.
- The judging panel will comprise senior figures from NASA, business and academia.
Announcement of Winners
- NASA astronaut Sandra Magnus will announce the winners in a live web steam at approximately 14.00 BST on 23rd June.
