The Global Enterprise Challenge in Australia is run by Australian Business Week Ltd (ABW) a not for profit organisation that offers young people the opportunity to learn about business by running their own computer simulated business. Schools have a choice of simulations in the IT, Manufacturing, Hospitality, or Retail Industries. To read more about ABW go to www.abw.org.au
The Australian challenge is a three stage event.
Stage one - A national qualifying event where schools from around Australia compete to select the nine finalist teams. The finalist teams for 2009 are:
- Australian Science and Maths School, South Australia
- Brisbane Grammar School, Queensland
- Earnshaw State College, Queensland
- Elanora State High School, Queensland
- Figtree High School, New South Wales
- Launceston Church Grammar School, Tasmania
- Mount Scopus Memorial College, Victoria
- Victorian State Team
- Yarra Valley Grammar School, Victoria
Stage two – The nine finalist teams compete in the 24hour challenge for the right to represent Australia in the international event.
Stage three - The winning Australian team represents Australia in the international event.
